Bodhi Night - as a choir member

participated in the Bodhi Nite on 30 Aug 2008
Last year i was the receptionist, this year i was the choir member. it was kinda last minute tho.
*i m never an active member of unibuds* _*
didn't manage to go for weekly practices so i sorta memorised the songs before hand on my own.
and juz went for the rehearsal on the performance day itself. sang 3 songs in total..
i surprise myself by memorising the Sutra song " Jaya Manggala "
which consists of strings of malay sounding words which i don't comprehend till i read the explanation in English. it's hard to memorise songs when you don't understand it and the tune was repetitve with many small variations
funny thing was that when i was memorising it in Bankstown i can slowly turn horizontal with the song still looping in my earphone.

the day was action packed.
early in the morning i was still like a zombie from the late night last minute memorising
i continued memorising with my choir friends in the morning

in between rehearsals we goofed around
the programme master

after 2 rehearsals and 2 nice meals

The vegetarian meals were superb

the moment finally arrived
check it out it's FULL HOUSE

i never experienced stage fright till that night when we sang our first song-Jaya Manggala.
i seriously SHIVERed - you can fill the chill down my spine. In my mind i was like " oh shit, are the audiences goin to see that >_< check out the outta the world lyrics on the screen!!!! and it's a 8 min song

in btw the 1st song, the reverend came up to bath the buddha statue

2nd song-Karma

our Last song is the Unibud songof course they have the sketch and many other musical performances

Emcees of the night ( Bilingual presentation)

A busy Winter Break

I had a really busy winter break (in my opinion)

CREDIT CARD
***************
I recquee for credit cards. only commbank is able to give me a higher credit card (standard reward card) cuz i'm a old customer...but still not high enuf for me.....i want a platinum

reasons being
-it offers 1 to 1 frequent flyer point(instead of the standard 2 to 1 FFP). - so i can achieve my points faster (especially when i have to pay my humongous sch fees)
-it offers one year travel insurance which is juz so applicable for my elective trip next year.

my minimum aim is to at least get a free return ticket by end of next year to get either my mom/dad to my graduation. :D
but i CAN't get a platinum.....found out that they have to at least see my 6 mths credit hx to determine if they are able to issue one. gonna contact them soon...hopefully they will make an exception juz before my trip this december.
oh ....my BRAIN CELLS!!!!

FLIGHT TICKET
******************
got my multiple stop air ticket settle....i'm taking the qantas/british airway
my itinerary: sydney-->hk-->london-->amsterdam-->london-->singapore-->sydney
suffer some hiccups in between.... wasn't a very pleasant experience... esp in the midst when the oil prices are rocketing but it's all done now ....phew

oh .....more of my BRAIN CELLs!!!!

WESTERN UNION
*******************
went all da way to hurstville for the western union branch juz to transfer some $$$ to london...but the stupid guy insisted that i have to present my Passport -_-. i was so pissed off that i " stormed off" the shop helplessly. was cursing what a stupid strategy for western union to adopt. luckily i found out later that i can juz transfer online so easily.... thanks to my resourcefulness so western union is not that stupid after all. lucky Yonxian, he can juz do it the faster way thru online w/o experiencing all these fuss himself...sometime it's good to do things later than pple right ;P

by right i shld be in COMA now

SUYI
******
wow suyi is my first hcjc friend who came to OZ to visit me :D
wanted her and her frens to stay at my place as my place is o so convenient
but they only stayed for one night b4 they went back to adelaide
it's amazing my small room can fit 4 girls *-*

so i met her in FISH market...weather was SUPERBLY superb. haha....can't believe i actually walk fr darling harbour. its not tt hard afterall.

had the same old routine delicacy such as sashimi and oyster

pass by pancakes on the rocks at darling harbour, had an inpromptu pancake

then went to QVB, went to another cafe (open by some msia) same lvl but opp side fr the one me and HL went. had fruit juice :D

the morning before their flight, we went to SUGAR PLUM. first time eating icecream as breakfast and main meal till we full :D craziness...it was so cold somemore.
yummy green tea + fragrant macadamia on superhard pancakes (well pancakes is not their specialty) and fatty whipped cream ontop

muz try hazelnut next time (these are my top 3)
miss out on the Coogee BBQ with yx, sijia and friends but i figure my decision was a fruitful one

GANESH
*********

so ganesh came to visit during winter break, staying in my place w/o letting me know about it earlier.

he slept in mubeen's room, everynight can hear him discussing LOUDLY with mubeen about somestuff (prolly politics and religion, as always)

first few days he solo or teman by mub

he then decided to go back to melbourne due to unforeseen circumstances and even took a bus to central station but came back in the end cuz he changed his mind (still not too late after i told him earlier there's no point rushing back)
we went to the darling harbour next day, had lunch there.
juz happen it was the WORLD YOUTH DAY. the place is flooded with young pple fr all over the world. turning darling harbour to a giant playground. u see pple laying on the grass everywhere, play balls everywhere. etc i hate crowd....juz spoil the view. (imel and ganesh may disagree with me) afterall i'm the one with caustrophia, not imel :P

so sunny that i had to wear my sunnies

the kids were trying to make funny faces at the back but they are too slow :P

had to shimmy thru the crowd

finally some peace at ian thorpe aquatic centre juz beside pH museum

the aquatic centre looks uber cool with its glass window. but i don't like the feeling of being watched when i swim juz like how i was watching them at that time :D

may b they shld built it at some kind of forest or desert, snowy mountain will be damn cool

we then went to the powerhouse museum..... found it nice initially....but came back home and realise...it was like a cooler version of singapore science centre. not that interested anymore...mayb it's an age thing. but stepping into it juz release the hidden younger me

with the best selling princess ever

shadows canb contemporary too
NASA next top model

the pedals are juz too faraway

of course imel can reach the pedal but too bad she can't cycle....faster go learn lah!!!

try to generate energy manually to light up th e fire engine infront of me

i am so static
dancing on the keys

DO-RE-MI

i still adore the feeling of evening by darling harbour when everything seems so calm juz before the night falls and the clubs are alive again. order a carrot cake fr gloria jean(recommendation by HL) and ate by the harbour. didn't really like it, taste like aeroplane food.

of course the rest of the holiday i have to recuperate from the trauma of external disturbance.. >_<

Bank Hunting

BANK HUNTING
i recquee for my bank term deposit potential. these banks r located w/i 100meter circumference fr my gp clinic: hsbc, st george, westpac, 2 commonwealth, bankwest.etc. Laiki is in st george. at the mean time i ask my friends in related field for advice.

my conclusion is that
-bankwest offers the best deal (but i have to b australian citizen, hate the feeling of not belonging anywhere all the time)
-rabobank - the one with interesting commercial, recommend by my commerce friend as well
has the second best rate
-then it's laiki
the other more well established non-online banks are more or less the same.

so i took on rabo and my long fren- commonwealthbank. rabo has an interesting password system. you get your password from this calculator look alike gadget, everytime you get different combination.

rabo it's because it has a high interest rate ( 7.9% for almost one month , 7.3 normally), i know it's less reliable than commbank (7.0%) but i shall give it a try short termly.

GP rotation

GP rotation
i finished my GP rotation like 3 months ago. it was in the hurstville. that was the time i fed myself really well cuz everything is so convenient. it's w/i westfield. did my assignment on team mx of diabetes as well as my negotiated assignment of " screening & prevention of cervical cancer". overall the term is good as i have mentioned before it is away from the high impact hospital setting. i learned lots too as i wasn't familiar of the GP system here. still hasn't gotten back any marks (so as my med term). i have concluded that i shall not be a GP. dont' like the nature of the job. i dont like dealing with harbinger or centrelink wannabes..... if i want quick easy money, i wldn't choose to study med for 6 years to achieve that...i want something more challenging and purposeful....(in my context, so dont' b offended)

Crazy right ? it's been so long

last time i seriously blog was like 30 June 08. can't even pick myself up to blog last week during holidays. i don't know...mayb it's'becuz i'm busy mayb it's something else

-why i am busy is self understood.
-something else: well, i like to keep note of my life events and share with everyone those interesting bits yet i dont like the privacy intrusion.
privacy intrusion occurs when fren who read my blog said : oh....so you went to this and this....why didn't you come to our party instead.... oh for goodness sake, give me a break. i'm not a very sociable person. sometimes i prefer staying at home talking to myself or imagining myself meeting Jay in Prague.

Above will be my blog illustrating what you have been missing out in my life.....

Jay Chou new album

Jay chou is goin to release his new album next month i think.
i reallise it's been almost one year since his last album. it's always during the end of year exam period.
haha, could either b a distraction for me or something to keep me relax and happy :D
looking forward to it thus i'm gonna free some space on my laptop for " you know wat" >_<
you know these days you need to be careful on wat you say online cuz it reach a wider audience (haha as if i have lotsa audience)
