let me tell u the PMH:
i got this job from intro of the lady boss of the restaurant i frequent. saying that this customer of her is lookin for a flyer gal. so i happily met the person & took the job.

the product that i 'm giving the flyer is apparently this anti-pimple/acne/blemish product (consist of face wash, toner, moisturiser, mask and serum) it's always like that huh- they always wanna get every single chance to suck ur money. and it's ingredients are from chinese herbs/medicine. therefore it claims to be different from the benzol peroxide you have seen in the market and more effective too. so my task is stand around the pharmacy or right outside the pharmacy giving out flyer. they promised it's a $13/hr job. (supposedly better than waitressing at chinese restaurant -$10). This kinda reminds me of the sales gal back in msia who always got hold of me when i pass by them becuz of my skin problem. >__<

wat's in my mind at 1st thought: it's kinda ironic for me to promote for the pdt. (Look at my complexion !!! - i have so much blemishes). i read thru the promotion guide. it juz doesn't make sense to me.....how does antifungal properties gotta do with acne. As u can see, i'm obviously not convinced.. but that's wat a sales person shld counter right ( since when i have become a sales person?!!!!)

but i still bravely embrace the 1st day while rushing from a 1.5 hr train ride & 45 min of bus ride in the rain from Liverpool Hospital all the way to the shopping centre 15min away from my house. I was greeted by lost pharmacy staff. i tot there will be uniform or at least brand T shirt. but there is nothing. (luckily i'm in my formal wear) i got this stack of around 80 pamphlets fr the drawer underneath the display rack. i started distributing outside the pharmacy.

as you know it's a weekday (thursday) and it's a rainy day. obviously not much people will come out to shop. plus, i have a limited area to cover (juz outside the pharmacy and how many actually pass by infront of me?!!!) and the product is only applicable to a very niche population (most probably young pple with acne problem). i being a usual street wise me, i'm selective in the people that i gave the brochures so that the brochures will not end up in the aluminium rubbish bin 5 metres in front of me. so i distriubuted almost half of wat i had. This is when i reallise that angmo's complexion are all so nice and rosy.(mayb it's cosmetics, but i'm dead sure that there are so few bumps on their face) i reckon the response will be better if it's a antiwrinkle collagen booster something - pple will eventually get wrinkles right)

so after standing for 3 hours i went home. i received a call from my boss asking me how's the response, i told him the truth. he ask me to tel him how many flyers i have given out. so i agak agak give him a figure 30-40 (cuz i 'm not aware that he will actually ask me that). he told me that i shld have given out more. i 'm confused...." m i supposed to be juz a flyer gal or a promoter?)

On saturday, trying to improve my performance.....and obviously there are more crowd. i finish the remaining flyers b4 3 hours. (i have to admit that i gave to some who seems to have pimples from far but in actual fact no, it's juz their freckles! )

i tot my job is done and my pay will come (it rhymes right?!) i receive this call fr my boss tellin me that his boss is not happy with the amt of flyers i have given out in 6 hours time (as you can see fr the text above highlighted in red. they keep comparin me to those pple stationed in the city and most probably juz blindly give the flyers out... and thus wanna cut my pay.

Can you imagine what's that?!!! 13 divide by half is 6.5 ( i tot minimum pay in australia is 10 bucks/hr). it's even less than a minor's pay. it's so unfair to me cuz it's never in the terms that it's a commision based job or wat. the job is juz i fulfill my hours and i'll get my pay. and it's not like i'm not doin my job, it's juz that the response is not good. and even if you are not satisfied with my working performance, you could have given me my full pay and ask me to get lost, not cutting my pay out of nowhere.

so i make a call to the big boss and reason with him
tried to talk to him in english. he will reply me with one whole chunk of long winded stuff that i have been told numerous times b4 by boss. line got cut off. call him again. try to converse with him in mandarin...OMG !!! 100X better than previous conversation.

rest assure that at least at this moment, everything is resolved. the big boss promised to give me my full pay on monday(13X6 = 78). and hopefully they wldn't see this entry b4 my pay day ;P

though in the phone with the big boss and boss, i told them that i look forward in working with them again (formality)....but i seriously doubt so after this incident. another evidence for stereotype: Only chinese will do this kind of thing , worse of all..... to their chinese tong2 bao1. ( both of them r chinese..... boss is from china, big boss don't know fr where)
What to do?!!! ciao

Juz a random note: took RSA (responsible service of alcohol course ) which cost me $70 in the city. it's compulsory in aus if the place you work in serve alcohol (eg, restaurant, pub, bar,club). i'm hoping that takin this course will widen my job options, hoping to get a waitressing job. the course is actually quite interesting. in conclusion we learn how to identify and deal with intoxicated customer, refusing to serve them.etc
