A busy Winter Break

I had a really busy winter break (in my opinion)

CREDIT CARD

I recquee for credit cards. only commbank is able to give me a higher credit card (standard reward card) cuz i'm a old customer...but still not high enuf for me.....i want a platinum

reasons being
-it offers 1 to 1 frequent flyer point(instead of the standard 2 to 1 FFP). - so i can achieve my points faster (especially when i have to pay my humongous sch fees)
-it offers one year travel insurance which is juz so applicable for my elective trip next year.

my minimum aim is to at least get a free return ticket by end of next year to get either my mom/dad to my graduation. :D
but i CAN't get a platinum.....found out that they have to at least see my 6 mths credit hx to determine if they are able to issue one. gonna contact them soon...hopefully they will make an exception juz before my trip this december.

FLIGHT TICKET

got my multiple stop air ticket settle....i'm taking the qantas/british airway
my itinerary: sydney-->hk-->london-->amsterdam-->london-->singapore-->sydney
suffer some hiccups in between.... wasn't a very pleasant experience... esp in the midst when the oil prices are rocketing but it's all done now ....phew

WESTERN UNION

went all da way to hurstville for the western union branch juz to transfer some $$$ to london...but the stupid guy insisted that i have to present my Passport -_-. i was so pissed off that i " stormed off" the shop helplessly. was cursing what a stupid strategy for western union to adopt. luckily i found out later that i can juz transfer online so easily.... thanks to my resourcefulness so western union is not that stupid after all. lucky Yonxian, he can juz do it the faster way thru online w/o experiencing all these fuss himself...sometime it's good to do things later than pple right ;P

by right i shld be in COMA now

wow suyi is my first hcjc friend who came to OZ to visit me :D
wanted her and her frens to stay at my place as my place is o so convenient
but they only stayed for one night b4 they went back to adelaide
it's amazing my small room can fit 4 girls *-*

so i met her in FISH market...weather was SUPERBLY superb. haha....can't believe i actually walk fr darling harbour. its not tt hard afterall.

had the same old routine delicacy such as sashimi and oyster

pass by pancakes on the rocks at darling harbour, had an inpromptu pancake

then went to QVB, went to another cafe (open by some msia) same lvl but opp side fr the one me and HL went. had fruit juice :D

the morning before their flight, we went to SUGAR PLUM. first time eating icecream as breakfast and main meal till we full :D craziness...it was so cold somemore.

yummy green tea + fragrant macadamia on superhard pancakes (well pancakes is not their specialty) and fatty whipped cream ontop

muz try hazelnut next time (these are my top 3)
miss out on the Coogee BBQ with yx, sijia and friends but i figure my decision was a fruitful one


GANESH

so ganesh came to visit during winter break, staying in my place w/o letting me know about it earlier.

he slept in mubeen's room, everynight can hear him discussing LOUDLY with mubeen about somestuff (prolly politics and religion, as always)

first few days he solo or teman by mub

he then decided to go back to melbourne due to unforeseen circumstances and even took a bus to central station but came back in the end cuz he changed his mind (still not too late after i told him earlier there's no point rushing back)
we went to the darling harbour next day, had lunch there.
juz happen it was the WORLD YOUTH DAY. the place is flooded with young pple fr all over the world. turning darling harbour to a giant playground. u see pple laying on the grass everywhere, play balls everywhere. etc i hate crowd....juz spoil the view. (imel and ganesh may disagree with me) afterall i'm the one with caustrophia, not imel :P

so sunny that i had to wear my sunnies

the kids were trying to make funny faces at the back but they are too slow :P

had to shimmy thru the crowd

finally some peace at ian thorpe aquatic centre juz beside pH museum

the aquatic centre looks uber cool with its glass window. but i don't like the feeling of being watched when i swim juz like how i was watching them at that time :D

may b they shld built it at some kind of forest or desert, snowy mountain will be damn cool

we then went to the powerhouse museum..... found it nice initially....but came back home and realise...it was like a cooler version of singapore science centre. not that interested anymore...mayb it's an age thing. but stepping into it juz release the hidden younger me

i still adore the feeling of evening by darling harbour when everything seems so calm juz before the night falls and the clubs are alive again. order a carrot cake fr gloria jean(recommendation by HL) and ate by the harbour. didn't really like it, taste like aeroplane food.

of course the rest of the holiday i have to recuperate from the trauma of external disturbance.. >_<
